Season-led Serengeti planning
The migration is a moving ecological cycle, not a fixed event at one river. We select the Serengeti region around your travel period and explain what is realistic.

PRIVATE & CUSTOM SAFARIS · TANZANIA
Baobab country, a vast volcanic caldera and plains that seem to run forever. We connect Tanzania’s parks into a journey with the right season, route, camps and time in the field.
WHY SAFARI LAB
Tanzania works best when every night moves the journey forward without reducing the safari to a road-transfer checklist.

Tarangire, the Ngorongoro highlands and the Serengeti are connected geographically, but the right sequence changes with your dates, flight schedule and where the migration herds are expected to be. Camp location inside the Serengeti can matter more than a familiar brand name. We plan the night distribution, private vehicle, crater descent, road sectors and bush flights together—then add Zanzibar only when the transition improves the journey.
THE SAFARI LAB DIFFERENCE
The migration is a moving ecological cycle, not a fixed event at one river. We select the Serengeti region around your travel period and explain what is realistic.
A private 4x4 and experienced driver-guide create continuity across the northern circuit. Vehicle, luggage, picnic lunches and daily field time are specified in the quote.
A beautiful camp can still be wrong for the day’s wildlife area. We compare central, northern, western and southern Serengeti locations before recommending the stay.
Ngorongoro needs sensible highland accommodation, descent planning and onward routing. We avoid compressing the crater into an impractical transfer day.
Where a beach extension makes sense, we coordinate the bush flight, airport sectors, Zanzibar stay and activities as one itinerary.

6N / 7DCUSTOMISABLE SAFARI
Arusha → Tarangire → Ngorongoro → Serengeti
A well-paced introduction linking elephants and baobabs, the crater and meaningful time on the Serengeti plains.
Begin from Arusha or Kilimanjaro and travel to Tarangire before continuing through the highlands for a Ngorongoro Crater experience. The journey then opens into the Serengeti for multiple nights selected around the season. The final airport or bush-flight sector, accommodation, meals, park fees and exact game-drive plan are confirmed in your proposal.
We'll confirm the day-by-day programme, accommodation, transfers and inclusions in your personalised proposal.
7N / 8D or longerCUSTOMISABLE SAFARI
Northern Circuit + seasonally selected Serengeti region
A migration-led journey that places additional nights where herd movement is most relevant for your travel window.
The route changes through the year. Calving-season travel may focus on the southern plains, while other periods can favour central, western or northern areas. River crossings are never scheduled performances and cannot be guaranteed. We recommend the region and camp only after assessing your dates, available nights and practical connections.
We'll confirm the day-by-day programme, accommodation, transfers and inclusions in your personalised proposal.
9N / 10D or longerCUSTOMISABLE SAFARI
Tarangire → Ngorongoro → Serengeti → Zanzibar
A complete bush-and-beach journey, finishing the northern circuit with a flight to Zanzibar and time by the Indian Ocean.
After the safari circuit, fly from a suitable Serengeti airstrip to Zanzibar. We tailor the balance between wildlife and beach, recommend the coast or Stone Town combination, and specify transfers, baggage considerations, meals and optional activities. International flights remain separate unless expressly included.
We'll confirm the day-by-day programme, accommodation, transfers and inclusions in your personalised proposal.
These are customisable itinerary starting points, not fixed departures. Final accommodation, availability, prices, park fees, activities and inclusions are confirmed in your personalised quote.

YOUR SAFARI, YOUR WAY
Tanzania ranges from comfortable lodges to intimate tented camps and highly exclusive wilderness properties. We begin with geography: the correct Serengeti sector, a practical Ngorongoro or Karatu base, and a Tarangire location that suits the route. Then we compare room style, food, family requirements, views and budget. Every proposal identifies whether a stay is inside a park, in a conservation area or outside the protected boundary, because that affects both experience and cost.
DISCOVER THE DESTINATION
Tarangire’s baobabs and elephant herds give way to the cool Ngorongoro highlands and the enclosed drama of the crater floor. Beyond lies the Serengeti: not one uniform plain, but a vast ecosystem whose central kopjes, western corridor, northern river country and southern short-grass plains change in relevance across the year. Tanzania can also extend beyond the classic north—to Nyerere, Ruaha or the Indian Ocean—but adding places only works when the time and connections remain sensible.
THE KNOWLEDGE BEHIND YOUR SAFARI
Each landscape has a role. The design of the journey decides whether those parts flow together or compete for your time.
Tarangire is known for baobabs, elephants and the river system that concentrates wildlife in drier periods. One or two nights can work depending on arrival time and season. We avoid treating it as a hurried drive-through when the route would benefit from staying close to the park.
Staying in Karatu, on the crater rim or elsewhere in the conservation area creates different cost, atmosphere and driving implications. The crater descent is planned around official access and realistic onward travel, not inserted between two long transfers.
The Seronera region is a practical wildlife base across much of the year and can connect other Serengeti sectors. It is not automatically the ideal location for every migration-focused trip, so we weigh year-round game viewing against your seasonal priorities.
Northern Serengeti is associated with the Mara River period; the western corridor and southern short-grass plains matter at other stages of the cycle. Dates, rainfall and herd movement vary. We choose a region based on the best current planning evidence without guaranteeing crossings, calving or a particular herd location.
Road travel reveals the changing landscape and works naturally through the northern circuit. Bush flights can save time between distant Serengeti sectors, Arusha and Zanzibar. We compare cost, luggage limits, lost road time and the experience itself before recommending either.
Zanzibar is a natural extension when the flight and number of beach nights justify it. Nyerere and Ruaha offer different southern-circuit experiences but should not be squeezed casually into a short northern itinerary. We design them as deliberate routes, not extra pins on a map.
THE WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE

Ancient trees, the Tarangire River and large elephant herds create a powerful opening chapter to the northern circuit.

The descent from misty highlands to the crater floor compresses grassland, lakes and wildlife into one remarkable landscape.

Kopjes, river corridors and short-grass plains change across an ecosystem whose wildlife story continues far beyond migration headlines.

Nikita and Sanjay make an amazing team at Safari Lab. They are extremely polite, professional, and highly experienced. From recommending the perfect hotel to arranging an excellent guide, every suggestion they made was absolutely spot on. Mara Simba is a wonderful property, especially for Indian travelers, including those who prefer vegetarian or Jain food. The hospitality was exceptional, and the rooms were comfortable and well maintained. A special mention to our guide, Gabriel, who was knowledgeable, courteous, and just as enthusiastic as we were about spotting wildlife. His passion and expertise made the safari experience even more memorable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend Safari Lab to anyone planning a safari trip to Masai Mara.
Excellent hospitality and superb service. Strongly recommended for Tadoba Jungle Safari.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Six or seven safari nights allow a balanced Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti journey. Migration-focused travel or a slower pace often benefits from eight or more nights, before any Zanzibar extension.
The migration is a year-round movement through the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem. Different periods can favour the southern plains, central or western Serengeti, or the north. Rainfall and herd movement vary, and river crossings or calving cannot be guaranteed.
It depends on your dates and priorities. Central Serengeti is a strong year-round base; northern Serengeti becomes particularly relevant during the period when herds may be near the Mara River. A split stay can work when sufficient nights are available.
Ngorongoro is managed as a conservation area rather than as a conventional national park. Safari planning must account for conservation-area fees, accommodation location, crater access and onward travel.
Safari Lab commonly plans private 4x4 journeys because they offer control over pace, stops and photography. Shared or group arrangements may be considered when suitable, with vehicle type and occupancy clearly stated.
Driving shows the transition between landscapes and suits the classic northern circuit. A bush flight can save time over longer sectors. We compare price, schedule, baggage restrictions and useful safari time before recommending the best option.
Yes. Flights connect Serengeti airstrips or mainland airports with Zanzibar. We recommend enough beach nights to justify the transition and coordinate airport transfers, baggage and accommodation.
No. Crossings depend on rainfall, herd movement and the animals themselves. We can position the itinerary intelligently for the season, but no ethical operator can schedule or guarantee a crossing.
Your personalised quote states the applicable park, conservation and concession fees included for the selected route and accommodation. These can change and are reconfirmed before booking.
